Why I started HouseChalk
I have lived the excitement, the frustration, and the "I wish I had known."
I have spent years building and renovating homes. I have been the excited homeowner, the frustrated one, and the one who said, "I wish someone had told me this sooner."
I have seen the regrets up close. The electrical panel too small for an EV charger. The foundation that did not account for a future addition. The plumbing that made a later remodel twice as expensive. A twenty-dollar rough-in could have saved a thousand-dollar headache.
These mistakes were not from lack of effort. Smart people still make bad decisions when they are rushed. They were missing a system: something to help them decide at the right time, track what they decided, and remember why.
HouseChalk is that system. Not to replace your builder, but to make you a better partner to them. The calm, practical voice in your corner who looks at your plans and says, "Here is what this really means for how you will live in this home."

Not a design platform. We help you make structural and system decisions, not pick paint colors. Pinterest and Houzz are fine for inspiration. This is for the stuff behind the walls.
Not project management. We track decisions and reasoning, not schedules or budgets. Your builder handles that.
